Sakti, once a princely state in eastern India, saw the birth of J.L.N. Degree College in the year 1964. The promising efforts by Honorable Raja Surendra Bahadur Singh, Chairman, Governing Body, paved the way for this institution to come into existence and thus fulfil the objective of providing higher educational opportunities to the rural population surrounding Sakti. Apart from teaching programs of Art, Commerce and Science, the college offers master’s degree in Political science, Economics and Hindi. The students are encouraged to develop personality and build character through Sports, NCC, NSS and various extracurricular activities.
Our students are free from the menace of ragging. Use of unfair means in examination and external disturbances, are discouraged thus ensuring they get the maximum advantage in their lives to study and evolve. The students of this institution find their places in the merit list of the University.
The college is affiliated to ‘Shaheed Nandkumar Patel Vishwavidyalaya, Raigarh (CG). The college is located in the heart of Sakti which is now the 33rd district of Chhattisgarh. Sakti railway station is on the Mumbai-Howrah rail route.
It is the vision of this College to initiate for better academic environment through latest teaching and learning methods, to introduce employment-oriented courses and to equip the institution to meet the challenges of the 21st Century.
